The Young Man, Enticed

“Suddenly he follows her as an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool.” (Proverbs 7:22, NASB95)Our world has never been short on women who gave themselves to the enticement of a young man, nor young men who would follow. The woman, unrestrainable by father or husband, has set out on her own with a deadly liberation. The writer complains that the feet of this boisterous and rebellious woman never stay home. For, rather than finding her meaning through her husband, she finds meaning in life through snaring the young men of the community. The man, seemingly going about his business, is way too easily enticed by her flattering lips and brazen lies. He follows, “as an Ox goes to the slaughter,” not realizing “that it will cost him his life” (Proverbs 7:23).All of this, however, is unnecessary because the man has been duly warned. Fathers, like the one writing the Proverb, have gathered their sons and said, “Listen to me, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, do not stray into her paths” (v. 24-25).Today, make sure you are listening to the advice of Fathers, not the enticement of fools! In His Grace,Dr. Randy WhiteTo receive our free DVD on the Antichrist, click here.
