God’s Mysterious Choice

Devotional:  May 28, Ezra 1:2“Thus says Cyrus king ofPersia, ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build Him a house inJerusalem, which is inJudah.’”  (Ezra 1:2, NASB95)The King of Persia (located in modern day Iran) was used of God to release His people from captivity and rebuilt the Temple of Jerusalem.  If God can use an enemy King, He can use anyone![fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=“yes” overflow=“visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=“1_1” background_position=“left top” background_color=“” border_size=“” border_color=“” border_style=“solid” spacing=“yes” background_image=“” background_repeat=“no-repeat” padding=“” margin_top=“0px” margin_bottom=“0px” class=“” id=“” animation_type=“” animation_speed=“0.3” animation_direction=“left” hide_on_mobile=“no” center_content=“no” min_height=“none”][caption id=“attachment_953” align=“alignleft” width=“156” caption=“Click here for Dr. White's newest book!”][/caption]It is fabulous how clearly Cyrus recognized the appointment he had from God.  I am afraid that few of us realize the fantastic and precise plan that God has developed for us.  We wander aimlessly, getting a glimpse of purpose from time to time, but rarely confident in our appointment from God.Often our appointments from God can be seen in what God has given us, as was the case for Cyrus.  Because he had been given “all the kingdoms of the earth” (do a little research on Cyrus the Great and you will find the truth of this statement), Cyrus had a sacred obligation to build a temple for the God from whom he received his power.What has God placed into your hands?  In those possessions lie your appointments.  Look over what God has given you and prayerfully ask how to fulfill the appointment that comes with the possession.In His Grace,Randy WhiteLord, I have not gained resources apart from Your will.  Since you have willed these resources into my hands, I have an obligation to fulfill the purpose for which you gave them.  Today reveal the appointment of my possessions, and I will obey.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
