Revival….too late

Devotional:  May 21“But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was observed to the Lord in Jerusalem.” (2 Kings 23:23, NASB95)King Josiah is a bright point among the Kings of Judah.  Outside of David, Josiah is the best King Judah ever had.[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=“yes” overflow=“visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=“1_1” background_position=“left top” background_color=“” border_size=“” border_color=“” border_style=“solid” spacing=“yes” background_image=“” background_repeat=“no-repeat” padding=“” margin_top=“0px” margin_bottom=“0px” class=“” id=“” animation_type=“” animation_speed=“0.3” animation_direction=“left” hide_on_mobile=“no” center_content=“no” min_height=“none”][caption id=“” align=“alignleft” width=“185” caption=“A classic book on Revival–get it today through Randy White Ministries.”][/caption]Good King Josiah started a campaign of spiritual renewal.  He went through the land and removed the altars and places of worship to pagan idols which his father had allowed to proliferate.  In his 18th year of reign, he reinstituted the forgotten Passover. How could something as important to the Jewish people as the Passover have been forgotten and neglected?  One step at a time!  Society began to turn away from God, then Passover was just a meaningless ritual, and soon it was forgotten altogether. There was a great revival in Josiah’s day.  The sad thing is that the revival was too late.  After speaking about this revival, 2 Kings 23:26-27  says, “However, the Lord did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him. The Lord said, ‘I will remove Judah also from My sight, as I have removed Israel. And I will cast off Jerusalem, this city which I have chosen, and the temple of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’’”Revival may come toAmerica.  Perhaps God will raise up a Josiah in American politics or American pulpits.  Perhaps God’s people will “humble themselves and pray.”  Perhaps the Spirit will spark a flame which will blaze across our land. But will it be too late?In His Grace,Dr. Randy White [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
